A dry skin with rough, red patches that flake is typical of a dehydrated, sensitive skin. This is a skin disorder, where the loss of moisture has proceeded unchecked. The sun, wind, or artificial cooling and heating, can all leave the skin exhausted of moisture.

Skin sensitivity can also be developed with age.

1) the use of soap may aggravate the condition and it may become necessary to discontinue soap. Instead use a pre-wash cream.

2) Cleanse your skin with rehydrant cleansers containing aloe vera and lemon. Use moist cotton wool to wipe off creams.

3) Apply a moisturizing cream, rather than a liquid moisturizer. A honey-based cream, would help to hold moisture to the skin.

4) When goining out of doors, use a sunscreen mixed with moisturizer., to give you adequate protection against further moisture loss.

5) At night, after cleansing, massage the skin gently with a nourishing cream that is rich in Vitamins A and E.

The skin responds to the right kind of care. But it is necessary to understand the needs of your skin and give it appropriate and regular care.
